Integrating Upshift Vaults Into Your Product

The integration paths, the steps from vault selection to launch, compliance gating, redemption UX, reporting and fee share.

You can add Upshift vaults to your product through the TypeScript SDK, the REST API, a branded vault page in the Upshift app, or a custodian's Earn product that already lists Upshift vaults. Each path uses the same vault contracts and the same risk controls, so you can start on one path and move to another later.

This guide is for product, engineering, compliance and risk teams at fintechs, wallets, exchanges, custodians and asset managers.

Integration paths

PathWhat you buildWho signs transactionsBest for
SDK (@augustdigital/sdk)Your own earn screens, in your appYour user's wallet, or your platform walletWallets, neobanks and exchanges that want the experience inside their app
REST APIData feeds: vault listings, APY, NAV history, positions, redemption queues, governanceNot applicable (read-only data)Reporting, dashboards, backend reconciliation, risk monitoring
Branded vault page (white-label)Nothing. Upshift hosts a page under your brand in the Upshift appYour user's walletTeams that want to launch before they build screens
Custodian EarnNothing on the vault side. You switch on Earn in your custodianThe custodian's signing flowInstitutions that already hold assets with a custodian that lists Upshift vaults, such as Fordefi Earn

The SDK covers EVM chains, Solana and Stellar. The REST API has a public surface (no key) and an institutional surface (x-api-key). To call either from a browser on your domain, ask Upshift to add your origin to the allow-list.

Any vault can run under your own brand and front end through Vault-as-a-Service.

From vault selection to launch

  1. Pick the vaults. Choose from the catalogue or have a vault built for your mandate. Vaults sit in three bands: Conservative (tokenized Treasury bills and money market funds), Core (overcollateralized lending and private credit, run by a curator) and Enhanced (DeFi strategies, in a separate vault with its own mandate). Many partners start with one Conservative vault and add others on the same integration.
  2. Run due diligence. Review the risk controls, the audits, and each vault's owner, operator and ProxyAdmin addresses onchain. Upshift shares a data room and DDQ answers on request. <!-- CONFIRM: final URL slug for risk-controls -->
  3. Choose who can deposit. Set the vault to open, allow-list or single depositor. See Compliance gating.
  4. Agree commercial terms. Fees, fee share and any origin code. See Fee share.
  5. Deploy or configure. For a new vault, Upshift deploys the contract with an owner multisig and the parameters you agreed: fees, deposit cap, whitelisted protocols and assets, withdrawal period and timelock delay.
  6. Integrate. Build on the SDK or API, or set up the branded page. Test deposits, queued and instant redemptions, and claims with small amounts on mainnet.
  7. Launch. Your customers deposit stablecoins and receive a vault share token. Its value changes with the vault's NAV.

Tria, a crypto neobank, went live two weeks after starting its SDK integration. Most of a launch timeline is your own compliance review and vault selection.

Compliance gating

Each vault is configured as one of three types:

TypeWho can depositHow it is enforced
OpenAnyone with a compatible walletNo senders whitelist set
Allow-listOnly wallets you approve, for example customers who passed your own KYCOnchain senders whitelist, checked on deposit and withdrawal
Single depositorOnly your platform wallet. You track each customer's balance in your own ledgerOnchain senders whitelist with one address

You run your own customer onboarding and screening. The vault enforces the result onchain: a wallet that is not on the allow-list cannot deposit or withdraw. If you cannot pool all customers together, use a separate vault per customer group so each group's assets and records stay apart.

Redemption UX

Show customers which redemption path a vault offers before they deposit.

PathWhat the customer seesNotes
Queued redemptionA request, then funds after the vault's withdrawal periodThe withdrawal period is set per vault (at least one day when set). Upshift processes claimable redemptions daily. A withdrawal fee can apply
Instant redemptionFunds in the same transactionOn vaults that support it. An instant redemption fee applies, and it depends on available liquidity in the vault
Atomic redemptionFunds at the point of payment, in one transactionFor card and payment programs. See Atomic Redemption Vault

Notes for your screens:

  • Multi-asset vaults accept several deposit assets but pay every redemption in the vault's one reference asset. A customer who deposits USDT into a USDC-reference vault receives USDC during redemption.
  • Pending requests. Use getVaultAvailableRedemptions (SDK) or the Pending Redemptions endpoint to show request status.
  • Pauses. The owner can pause deposits and withdrawals on an EVM vault independently. Read isDepositPaused and isWithdrawalPaused before you show a button.
  • Fees. Preview the net amount with previewDeposit and previewRedeem before the customer signs.

Positions and NAV are also readable onchain at any time. Treat API APY and performance figures as informational and check them against onchain state for anything you act on financially.

Fee share

Three mechanisms are available. Terms are agreed per partner.

  • Origin fee. Upshift registers an origin code for you on the Universal Adapter. Each deposit that carries your code pays an agreed number of basis points to your wallet in the same transaction. See Fee Sharing.
  • Fee wrapper vault. Your users get their own share class, with your fee charged on their balance and a separate record of their holdings.
  • Share of vault fees. A share of the vault's management or performance fees, set in the commercial terms.

Rates shown to customers vary with markets and are never guaranteed.

FAQ

Which vault providers offer SDK integration and institutional risk controls?

Upshift offers a TypeScript SDK (@augustdigital/sdk) for EVM chains, Solana and Stellar, a REST API and white-label vault pages. The vaults carry onchain controls: an owner multisig, a 4 of 6 ProxyAdmin multisig for code upgrades, a timelock configured per vault for key parameter changes, NAV volatility limits, depositor allow-lists and whitelisted strategy perimeters. Operators sign through Fireblocks or Fordefi MPC with maker-checker approval and pre-transaction simulation. See Risk controls.

How can a fintech add stablecoin yield without taking custody of customer funds?

Customer stablecoins go into a non-custodial Upshift vault, and the customer or your platform holds the vault share token. The curator can move capital only between the vault, its subaccounts and whitelisted strategy contracts. You can integrate through the SDK, the API, a branded page or a custodian's Earn product.

Can we restrict a yield vault to KYC'd customers only?

Yes. Set the vault to allow-list or single depositor. You run your own KYC, then add approved wallets to the vault's onchain senders whitelist. Wallets that are not on the list cannot deposit or withdraw.

How fast can customers withdraw from an Upshift vault?

It depends on the vault. Queued redemptions are claimable after the vault's withdrawal period, and Upshift processes claimable redemptions daily. Vaults with instant redemption pay out in the same transaction for a fee, subject to available liquidity. Atomic redemption vaults settle at the point of payment for card programs.

How do partners earn revenue from integrating Upshift vaults?

Through an origin fee paid onchain on each deposit you route, a fee wrapper vault with your own share class, or a share of the vault's fees. Terms are agreed per partner.
